Alexandru needs all of us to continue his fight!
Alexandru came into the world apparently healthy, but just a few days after the birth the family's life changed forever. The doctors made a terrible diagnosis: bilateral hydronephrosis and partial agenesis of the corpus callosum, and later, the list was completed with other serious neurological and ophthalmological problems: cerebral pachygyria, bilateral congenital cataracts, generalized hypotonia.
The childhood years, which should have been full of play and smiles, meant hospitals, therapies, surgeries and pain for Alexandru. Until the age of 2, he could not sit alone, did not hold his head and did not respond to the stimuli around him. However, through a daily struggle, with intense therapies and surgeries, Alexandru began to take small but huge steps for him: today he stands up with support, he is more present, he speaks a few words and he wants to conquer the world around him.
But for these advances to continue, he needs daily therapies (physical therapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy, hippotherapy, psychotherapy), medical devices (orthoses, verticalizer, frame and walking stroller, electric bicycle, special glasses), drug treatment, periodic consultations and tests. All of this is far beyond the family's financial means.
The annual costs for recovery therapies at the Saint Hierarch Nectarie Clinic in Oradea and at the Marisa Neuro Rehab Center amount to 12,500 euros. A huge sum for his parents, but a saving one for Alexandru.
