Now he's doing antibiotic AMBIZOA and DISAFFINICEFT for INVASIVE FUNGAL SINUSITIS for which he had surgery on Jan. 7 after I got here. They collected samples of me and tatasau and decided that they would do the cell transplant from my father. We are waiting for a result from the tests on Thursday and chemotherapy begins. From Saturday, dad starts making GROWTH FACTOR and next Wednesday he harvests his cells.

Cristinel's story

I never thought that wings outstretched to fly in the sky of life would be broken by an ugly disease. All I want to do is live!

At only 22 years old, Cristinel Andrei suddenly went from the beauty of his student years to the abomination of the diagnosis of leukemia. He discovered the disease after his pulse began to grow strongly for no reason. On August 28, 2020, blood tests showed him the ugly face of life. Since then, he has spent time in hospital beds, today in Colţea, tomorrow in Fundeni, then in Israel.

Cytostatics, many complications, Intensive Care, operations, hundreds of blood transfusions and platelets... I struggled as hard as I could, but it seems that this disease is stronger than I am. I also had a stem cell transplant from my brother in February 2021, but the disease came back in full force in July, and in the country I was not given any more chances of healing,Cristi told us.

The only hope he has is a transplant that can be performed at Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv. It is the only positive response he received after asking for a second opinion from several hospitals abroad. The intervention to transplant healthy cells from the boy's mother or father exceeds 250,000 euros, most of the money being collected and already paid by the hard-pressed family.

My mother, an educator by profession, had to go on unpaid leave because she had to stay with me, and my father, a former policeman, now retired, cannot cope with the additional expenses that appear here in Israel...

The expenses to which Cristi refers are the antibiotics and the other medicines he has to take after the transplant, all of which amount to over 30,000 euros. The young man's parents are financially drained after only they know how they managed to raise the enormous amount needed to pay the son the surgery that saved him. So that their effort is not in vain, we can help them with the rest of the money through any donation made in the accounts of the Association "Save a Heart".

I appeal to all good-hearted people to help me emerge victorious from this difficult trial, so that I can follow my dream of becoming an electronics engineer!

Leukemia should not be an end, but only a turning point, a trial, an obstacle that can be overcome. Just as we managed to save children and young people with various forms of cancer, we can save Cristinel Andrei. Any donation can be his release from the disease and the start to the future he wants!
