Vlad's story

Winter holidays come, especially for the little ones, with many joys and beautiful gifts. Unfortunately, for Vladuț it was not the same last year. Instead of toys from Santa Claus, Vlăduț received some terrible blows at only his six years. His parents have been fighting ever since to save his life and rid him of the torments he has been subjected to for many months, but their financial powers are limited. We can put our hand together to help an innocent soul smile again.

Vlad Constantin Budeanu was only 6 years old on December 8, 2018, when he started having terrible headaches and vomiting. Arriving with their parents at the hospital in Dorohoi, doctors recommended emergency surgery because they found that he had polyps and tonsillitis. After surgery at the hospital in Suceava Vlăduț felt better, but not for long. On January 2, 2019 the pain and vomiting started again, so the little one was admitted for 5 days to the hospital in Dorohoi, diagnosed with a cold, possibly meningitis. On the day of discharge, January 7, their parents ran the ground from under their feet when they saw their baby lose control of his right hand and leg, right on the hospital stairs. They asked to be sent with Vlăduț to the hospital in Botoşani, first to Infectious Diseases, and from there to the Mavromati County Emergency Hospital where he was given a CT. The news received there sparked great suffering, both for Vlăduț's family and for the future of the little one. Doctors told their parents that their little angel might have a head tumor, excess fluid, malformation. Within half an hour of receiving this terrible blow, an ambulance arrived from Iaşi, and Vlăduț was transported to St. Mary's Hospital there. Unfortunately, the diagnosis was a cruel one: tumor in the small brain of 6/4 cm. Prof. dtr. Ioan Poiata operated on Vlăduț on 5 February, with the intervention taking place from 7.30 am until 17:15. The operation went well, but the trouble was not over. The little guy went into a coma that very night, doing hydrocephalus. Two and a half weeks lasted this period of coma, two weeks in which the parents went through the worst moments, not knowing if Vladuț would ever smile at them again.

When he woke up from his coma, after two drainage hoses had changed, He had wounds on his lips because of the oxygen tube, his eyes were crossed and he could no longer speak. Indeed, Prof. Dr. Ioan Poiata told their parents that their little one has visual disturbances and mutism. After eight weeks, Vlăduț's strength and his desire to have a normal life helped him get over these serious diagnoses and recovered, but he still can't control his right hand and leg. From March to July 29, Vladuț had chemotherapy, and the ordeal continues.

The parents were able to obtain funding from the DSP so that Vlăduț could undergo treatment at a clinic in Germany, as it is not possible to perform in Romania. It's about protonotherapy, an extremely expensive treatment.

Our involvement can be vital in this case. Together we can save the life of a child who desperately wants to play, laugh and delight his parents. We can make an innocent soul feel the joys of life, any effort can make a difference.
