The story of little Maria

Little Maria Teodora Budui, only 6 years old, is a wonderful and strong little girl, who has been facing huge challenges since birth. Maria suffers from hemolytic anemia due to pyruvate kinase enzyme deficiency, a rare condition that requires blood transfusions every six weeks.

In the summer of 2022, the Budui family went through a nightmare when Maria suffered an ischemic stroke, which led to paralysis of her left hand and leg. After numerous investigations, doctors determined that Maria suffers from Moyamoya's disease, a rare condition that causes narrowing and blockage of the cerebral arteries on the right side. Since then, Maria has suffered multiple strokes.

Despite these difficulties, Maria remains a lively little girl, brave and cheerful, being the support and joy of her parents, Budui Daniel and Budui Oana, both policemen. Despite their modest income of 2400 euros per month, the family does their best to provide Maria with the best medical care.

Dr. Sergiu Stoica from the Brain Institute brought hope to the hearts of the parents, offering them a solution: an encephalomyosinangiosis operation, which could significantly improve Maria's condition. But the cost of this intervention is 10,500 euros, an amount impossible to raise in a short time for the Budui family. Every day of delay means the risk of new vascular attacks for Maria, due to poor circulation in the brain.
