Following several consultations and evaluations, Maria Cristea's doctors could not see major neurological progress, and do not recommend further chemotherapy treatment, especially since it has also started to have nasty effects. Basically Maria's life can be prolonged, but under the same conditions as before, either her parents want her to be as normal as possible, and they have also decided that there is no point in tormenting her since nothing changes neurologically. Maria will return to Romania soon (if her father manages to cross the border...) and I hope from the bottom of my heart to arrive safely (the first case of coronavirus in Turkey has just been confirmed).
We want to thank each and every one of you for joining us with everything - prayers, words of encouragement, questions, good thoughts, advice and especially donations. It's been three years! intense battle in which you did not bother to help us as much as you could. Infinite thanks and the association Save a heart that made possible the operation Maria and all the investigations in the hospital in Istanbul, especially Mr. Vlad Placinta, an absolutely extraordinary man, honest to the decimal and involved with all his soul in all humanitarian cases of the association. yes, it's not the solution we've been hoping for and expecting, but the fact that two parents will sleep soundly that they tried everything possible to save their child will comfort us a little...

Unfortunately we don't come up with good news, Emma's condition has worsened, we've been in the hospital for 10 days and Emma still has vomiting and diarrhea.
I took a three-day break from food and this way it had stabilized, as I resumed last night's meals, started to pour.
We hope and pray to overcome this period, to come better days for her.

If you're wondering what Maria Cristea is doing, unfortunately i'm not coming with too good news, we got to do a 9th chemo cure, only the adverse reactions are more and more pronounced.
He started to pour and have soft chairs, even today we have not been able to stabilize the situation, so we will remain hospitalized until the condition will allow him to be discharged.

Unfortunately we don't come up with very good news, Maria checked in for the ninth chemo cure, just to get the blood tests low and we had to do neupogen so we could raise them. The condition was not a very good one, last night began to shed and there is no reason. Today I have done a CT and we are waiting tomorrow to visit a news from the doctor, we hope good!

Maria Cristea arrived at the hospital for the ninth course of chemotherapy, we pray to pass it well and without adverse reactions, as you well know the last cures have brought more difficult to carry.
Last night I went to a consult, to the physiotherapist, only it has been rescheduled as the first time it must be seen by a doctor at the ENT to tell us at what point it is with swallowing and a bad breath that he has lately and must be detected the reason.
So next week at 4:00, they'll see our physiotherapist with another doctor and decide what's best for Maria Cristea.

Cristea Emma Maria (3 years) has pilocytic astrocytoma (brain tumor) and from 5 months her life has been in question. Sent home to wait for the end, among uncertain diagnoses, investigations at various specialized clinics in Romania, little Maria's chance of living should end here and let her go out like a candle. Maria stubbornly lived in spite of all expectations, with a giant tumor and very risky to intervene. But the parents' fight doesn't end there. They sent her medical file to various clinics abroad and a favorable response comes all the way from Turkey, from the Koc University Clinic where she was offered thorough investigations and then radiotherapy and chemotherapy according to the diagnosis issued by specialist doctors in Romania. But unfortunately, the costs are very high for the little girl to benefit from specialized treatment and especially for a new chance at life. Maria never called her twin brother by name, she can't hug him and she can't play with him. With the support of all those willing to donate, we will help Maria be a normal child.

Astrocytoma can develop slowly or in the form of an aggressive, rapidly evolving cancer. Depending on the mode of development, treatment options are established.
Astrocytoma is one of the most common types of brain tumors called glioma. Symptoms depend on the location of the tumor. When it is located
symptoms may be tremors, migraines and nausea. When in the spinal cord, symptoms can be muscle weakness and physical disability.
