For Ecaterina, this medical intervention is essential. Doctors say that the operation should be performed as soon as possible, so that her eyes can learn to see and so that her development is normal. The total cost of the treatment is approximately 11,000 euros.

A 2-month-old girl needs our help to see the light
When a child is born, one of the first things he begins to discover is the mother's face. At first he sees blurredly, then slowly he begins to recognize the face that reassures him, the smile that gives him security and the voice that makes him feel at home. It is a simple but fundamental moment in the life of any child.
For Ioana Ecaterina, a little girl of only two and a half months, this moment has not yet come.
Her mother, Stefana, noticed a white dot in the little girl's eyes one day while holding her in her arms and breastfeeding her. It was a small detail, but enough to make him feel that something was wrong. The next day she went to the doctor, and after investigations and consultations she received a difficult diagnosis for any parent: congenital cataracts in both eyes.
The doctors at the INFOSAN Hospital in Bucharest explained that there is a real chance for Ioana, but it is a chance that depends on time. The intervention must be done as soon as possible, so that her eyes can learn to see and so that her development is normal.
The cost of the operation and postoperative treatment is 11,000 euros, a very high amount for this family, especially in such a short time. But experience shows us that things that seem impossible for one family become achievable when an entire community chooses to help a little.
