Today, Luke underwent a new medical test: a lumbar puncture. The number of these procedures and general anaesthesia he has undergone so far is hard to account for – it may be in the tens in the last three years. Our hearts tremble every time, but today we received a ray of hope: the result is NEGATIVE 🙏, a clear signal that the treatment is working. We still have to go through 12 days out of the 28 treatments.

Yesterday we were called to the hospital for admission. In the morning, Luca again had a puncture to inject cytostatics into the spine and, also today, he will start immunotherapy treatment that will last 28 days continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We hope it is well tolerated without side 🙏🙏🙏🙏 effects .
We still do not have an answer as to whether a donor has been found or whether one of the parents will be a donor for the bone marrow transplant.

Luke has a cold and continues to be tired, which is reflected on his face, but he enjoys spending time with his brother. Luca is still hospitalized, dealing with the side effects of chemotherapy. He is very bored and wants to go home. That's why my dad came to visit today. We enjoyed it a lot, although the visit was too short. We hope that in the coming days we will be discharged and go to David.

I haven't written for a few days, Luca is still hospitalized. Monday was the last day of chemotherapy of the six. Side effects were not long in coming: malaise, fever, chills and lack of appetite. Today was a little better, thank goodness. Test values began to decrease, which means that the treatment is working. We will have to stay hospitalized for the next period.
The results of compatibility tests with his brother have arrived; Unfortunately, they are not compatible, so they will search for a donor in the database. If they don't find one there either, one of the parents will be the bone marrow donor.

Today, Luca had a puncture procedure for administering three types of cytostatics directly into the spine, specifically into the cerebrospinal fluid. After the procedure, he felt unwell, experiencing strange states he cannot describe, marking yet another stage of suffering in his struggle. It's not over yet...

We came back with the results of today's punctures. As I said, we always trust God. We know Luke is strong, and you stand by us. The results are negative 🙏🙏🙏.
On Monday we have an MRI scheduled again. We are waiting for the next stage of treatment, before transplantation, namely chemotherapy.

Luca Guță's story
For almost a year, a simple family in Romania has been living moments that I would not wish on anyone. In April, Daniela and Florin Guță noticed that their son, Luca, had unexplained pain in one of his hands. They went with him to the hospital and eventually learned that the 7-year-old had B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive form of blood cancer. They didn't even have time to recover from the shock, poor people, because they had to leave behind everything familiar to them and go to Italy, a country that offers the possibility of an effective treatment against this disease.
For Luca, almost 7 months of chemotherapy followed, and everything seemed to have gone well. But this year blood test results showed that the leukemia had returned.
It is hard to imagine what ordeal Daniela and Florin Guță lived when they heard that the life of their beloved son is again in great danger. Only a parent can understand despair, fear, but also hope and prayers said deep in the soul for a miracle!
Today, the miracle would be a bone marrow transplant performed in Rome. It remained the only chance at life for Luca, and his parents are going through new difficult times because the treatment costs far beyond what they can afford, and the rent costs in the Italian capital are very high too.
Imagine how hard it must be for a mother to see her son sick and know that she will not be able to save him if she does not get at least €20,000 in a very short time. Daniela Guță shared Luca's story with us in the hope that she will find compassion and solidarity among the friends of the "Save a heart" Association, people who have saved countless lives so far and who could save Luca's through their donations.
Together we can give a happy ending to this story. If we unite and donate, Luca can emerge victorious in the fight against leukemia and will be able to live healthy, like any normal child.
Leukemia and cancer in general need not be a condemnation! Together we have saved many children and adults with such diagnoses through our financial support.
