I am writing to you with a heart full of emotion and gratitude to share with you a wonderful news about my little girl, Herta Maia. After 25 days full of hope and prayers, today he returns home from Istanbul. The doctor who operated on her finally allowed her to go home, and this day is one of the happiest of our lives.
On July 2, Herta Maia underwent a difficult operation to detach her spinal cord. Unfortunately, complications arose and a second operation was required on July 13. Although it was an extremely difficult time, her courage and strength gave us all strength.
Now, for the next month, she will have to stay in bed, with very little movement, in order to be able to heal completely. It's a difficult process, but we know it's on the right track. In 6 weeks, we will have to go to the check-up again, but we are confident that the results will be positive.
Thank you all for your support and prayers. Your presence has brought us much comfort and helped us get through these difficult moments.

It's been a month since the corridors of a hospital became more than just passers-by for us, turning into a place where hope and determination meet every day. Our little girl, with an iron will hidden behind a shy smile, began to get used to the hardships of recovery. The leg surgery, although successful, left behind pain in several places - testimony to the battle he is fighting. But her undefeated courage inspires us daily to stay as strong for her.
In the midst of this struggle for normalcy, we were struck by news that added weight to our burden – the need for new surgery to detach the attached marrow, discovered following an MRI on the spine. And as if the challenge were not great enough, this operation must take place at Medical Park in Turkey, a center of excellence in the medical field, recognized for its expertise, but also for the associated costs, which are undoubtedly enormous.
The amount needed for this vital intervention amounts to EUR 11,700, a figure that far exceeds our financial capabilities. This is not just a number; It represents a barrier between our little girl and her chance to a normal life, free from the restrictions imposed by a complicated medical condition. We now face the task of raising these funds, a challenge that requires us to ask for help from the community, friends, family and everyone who can contribute, regardless of the size of the support.
The decision to wait two months before trying to meet this new challenge is a tough but necessary one. We want to make sure our little girl is orthopedically strong enough to face another operation. Our hope is to be able to schedule the intervention in May, depending on the availability of doctors and our ability to cope with costs.
Our appeal is one of hope and determination. Please help us raise the funds needed so that our little girl can receive the treatment she so desperately needs. On a day filled with hope and excitement, my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude and joy. Maria Rebekah, my brave 9-year-old angel, came out of a complex and much needed operation. The doctors, with skill and dedication, intervened on both hips, right tibia and right foot, in a remarkable effort to give Maria a chance at a normal and pain-free life.
At these moments, Maia is immobilized in plaster, a temporary cocoon that hides behind her the hope of a complete healing. The next two months will be a period of waiting and hope, until we can truly see the fruits of this surgery. My motherly heart is full of hope, but also anxiety, waiting for the moment when we will take off her cast and discover together how successful the surgery was.
Words cannot express the depth of my gratitude to each person who helped us turn this dream into reality. Raising 31,941 euros seemed like an impossible mission at first, but thanks to your generosity, support and love, today, Maria Rebekah had the chance at a new beginning. Every donation, every kind thought, and every prayer brought us closer to this magical moment.
In the face of this trial, I learned what solidarity, hope and the strength of community mean. My little girl, with her brave smile and hopeful eyes, is living proof that together we can work miracles.

Shortly before the scheduled date for surgery, a representative of the hospital in Germany informed us that, unfortunately, the doctor (Dussa) who was going to perform the surgery had resigned. During that confusing time, God brought us a person recently operated on for a similar orthopedic problem at a clinic in Istanbul, Turkey. Knowing that hip surgery is recommended to be performed until the age of 10, limited by time and the increasing pain that the girl complained of while walking, we mobilized quickly and requested an appointment at that clinic (WM Medical Park Maltepe). Following an extensive consultation by two orthopedic doctors, a neurosurgeon and a dietitian, we received their permission to take care of our daughter's case and operate on her as quickly as possible. Thus, we managed to schedule the intervention for February 29. We wholeheartedly thank everyone for their support and financial help. Without you we would not have succeeded. Now we hope that Maia will successfully pass the intervention, recover quickly and have a normal life like all children of her age.
