Justin fights from the first breaths!
Justin Gabriel Piticaru has nine years, nine years of life in which every step, every breath were real challenges. From the very first moments of life, Justin lived a drama. Although his mother had a perfectly normal pregnancy, the baby was born prematurely at just 31 weeks due to a medical error.
During a routine obstetric-gynecological consultation, the doctor made a mistake, pressing the membranes, which were broken. The mother was rushed to Suceava County Hospital, where she waited eight hours until she entered the operating room to perform a caesarean section because there were no empty rooms, no surfactant in stock, despite the fact that the intervention was a major emergency. At the time of birth, the baby asphyxiated through hypoxia, suffering respiratory distress. The child's power and desire to live have been seen since the first days of life. After six days he was able to breathe alone, after initially taking 100 percent oxygen.
Justin spent the first and a half months of his life in hospital, and on discharge his mother was warned that she had to expect the worst. The neonatologist gave a very serious diagnosis to the little one: perinatal cerebral palsy. Mother and son, always together, Justin and his mother began to roam all the recovery centers in the country: Cluj, Iaşi, Bucharest, Oradea. A mother desperate to see her healthy baby began to learn how to help Justin herself. At 4 years old, he made him sit alone, without any support, a great progress for the little one. Moreover, at four months it took surgery due to an inguinal hernia arising from constipation. Things have evolved well in this respect, no longer needing surgery for the right side.
Doctors gave Justin various diagnoses, with the increase: spasdtic tetraplegia, spastic diplegia, spastic tetraparesis and the initial diagnosis, that of cerebral palsy, was maintained. Because of many ailments, Justin cannot speak at the age of nine (spasticity in the tongue area) and has no balance when he wants to stand. It just goes helped. Only with his mother Justin finds the power to walk and learn new things every day. The child cannot eat anything but shredded food because he cannot chew.
Although her family has broken up, going through a divorce, Justin's mother is by her child's side every moment and tries to teach him new things every day. Now he wants to teach him to write and color, but it takes a lot of work for fine motor skills. Justin can get things right, play, but progress is very hard. Schooling is a problem because it doesn't talk, it needs pampers and it doesn't have balance, so mom, math teacher, and grandma, also a teacher, feverything in their power to help the little one.
The mother's greatest desire, the one who dedicates herself body and soul to the recovery of this child, is to go to Thailand to do everything medically possible to help him. Every moment with Justin is a life lesson, a lesson about courage and strength, about the desire to live and get through every day – which is a real challenge. The way Justin seems to understand everything that's going on around him makes his mother believe in the possibility of recovery, which is why he's trying to raise the money for the best Beike stem cell treatments. Even though she's aware that only a miracle can help him heal 100%, the mother believes in a 70-80% recovery. For this to be achievable, it takes a large amount of money, which is why we appeal to people who understand a mother's pain and her desire to save her baby and give her a chance at a better, normal life.
Justin Gabriel Piticaru is an example of willpower, it is living proof that the struggle for life is not at all easy when destiny has condemned you since birth, but nothing is impossible – especially when you have with you true walls of force that give you unconditional love and care. However, the powers of this wall of force, i.e. Justin's mother, are limited, and here it takes the intervention of people with a big heart who can help the child get to Thailand to get another chance.
