I attach two discharges from May: one after chemotherapy and then one of the last checks performed at 4 days. His condition was quite good after the treatment, the result was good. He had two weeks outside the hospital, during which he recovered even better, and the results of the tests performed at the control also showed this. At the last check-up last week, doctors told us that, due to the good evolution and the fact that the disease is in remission, the need for transplantation is no longer considered.
But instead, they have to undergo other courses of chemotherapy. Thus, on June 1, he was readmitted and began a new treatment. It's at the beginning of other hard and long days...
With hearts full of hope, we go through these difficult times thinking of the better days to come. Every day of treatment is a new challenge, but also a new chance for Alexandru to get closer to healing. We thank from the bottom of our hearts all those who are with us and support us in this fight. Every kind thought and every gesture of support gives us the strength to move forward. �❤️

With hope and gratitude in our souls, we write to you again to share with you from Alex's heroic journey in his tireless fight against the disease. After the encouraging success of immunotherapy treatment, a short break allowed us to breathe and prepare for the next crucial stage.
On April 9, 2024, Alex was hospitalized again to begin an intensive course of four cytostatics, structured in four blocks over 28 days. During this period, Alex will undergo two bone marrow punctures essential for monitoring his evolution.
Already, after two days of hydration necessary to prepare his fragile body, the cytostatics cure has begun. We are currently in the middle of the third treatment block. Alex has already gone through his first bone marrow puncture, and his path is paved with challenges: nausea, vomiting, pain and agitation are sometimes daily. However, there are also better days, when we see his brave smile and when the good results of the treatment give us hope to continue the fight.
Every good day is a victory, every smile is a ray of sunshine through the dark clouds of treatment. These bright moments are what charge us with the strength to move forward, help us get up in the morning and continue to fight alongside Alex.

In these lines we share with you the story of resilience and courage of a little fighter, who went through moments that seem detached from the hardest trials of life. On March 7, he underwent a lumbar and spinal cord puncture, at which point he was given a cytostatic directly into his spinal cord. This intervention triggered a series of side effects: vomiting, fever, days when his small body struggled to cope with strong drugs.
However, with an iron will, he began to recover, and after 5 days of hospitalization, it was possible to be discharged. The treatment continued at home, in a quieter and familiar environment, until March 18, when the immunotherapy course ended. But the journey was not without difficulties; Punctures under sedation again brought him malaise, vomiting, fever, agitation, and pain that seemed to never end. Weakened and tested, blood tests began to show declining values, requiring blood transfusions and a new round of treatments.
But hope slowly made its way. The results of the punctures brought good news, his condition improved significantly, turning him back into the lively and smiling child we knew. His unconquered fortitude and spirit gave us the strength to stand by him, illuminating the dark path we walked together.
Since Thursday, March 28, the improvement of the analyzes allowed us to bring him home, away from the stress of the hospital, even if for a short period. Tomorrow we head to the hospital again for a check-up, ready to find out what the next steps in his treatment are.
On this journey, every moment away from the hospital is a priceless gift, a respite from peace in the turmoil of treatments. His gaze, full of hope and courage, teaches us a precious lesson about the power to fight, about how to face each day with a smile on our face, regardless of the hardships we go through.

A spark of hope for Ionuț Alexandru
In a world full of uncertainty, sometimes a spark of hope can light up the darkest road. This is the message that Save a Heart Association wants to convey today, in support of little Ionuț Alexandru Popescu and his family. At just 11 months old, Ionuț is battling a life-threatening disease - acute lymphoblastic leukemia type B. Together with his parents, Gheorghe Eugen and his mother, he is in Rome, at Bambino Gesu Hospital, in a race against time for his life.
Last year, on April 9, the Popescu family received the most beautiful Palm gift - the birth of Ionut Alexandru. The first months of life seemed to be full of promise and joy, until a seemingly harmless lump changed everything. What began as a diagnosis of hemangioma turned into an urgent fight for Ionuț's life, culminating in his devastating diagnosis of leukemia.
With limited financial resources and faced with a situation far beyond their capabilities, the Popescu family left for Italy, in search of adequate treatment for Ionuț. After months of intensive treatment, nausea, pain and infections, Ionuț showed the whole world what true courage means.
Today, Save a Heart Association launches an appeal of solidarity and support for Ionuț and his family. The required amount of €20,000 is vital to cover monthly expenses, which include rent, maintenance, transportation, and the daily needs of an 11-month-old baby during treatment and bone marrow transplantation required.
