Hello! Michael's condition is not good at all. We have been hospitalized for 6 days at Koç University Hospital, and after the most recent chemotherapy course, done two weeks ago, Mihail did not feel well anymore. I came with vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea, and now she receives artificial food. It stayed at 33 kg, I don't even have words anymore and I'm ashamed to bother you anymore because it's too much as you helped us. Thank! 🙏🙏🙏

For a few hours I got home. Michael does not feel well at all, the reactions from chemotherapy have begun. We asked him to discharge us because we no longer have the money to supervise him in the hospital. After two weeks we have to go back to Turkey for the 7th session of chemotherapy, then we have another one and that's it. With God's help, we hope that Michael will put an end to the struggles and torments he went through. I pray to God 🙏 that he can continue with the two chemotherapy sessions.

I didn't write to you because I had a health problem. Mihai finished his 5th course of chemotherapy. He also did abdominal MRI, the doctors said that nothing is seen, no tumor, but the right kidney is very atrophied, that is, much smaller than the left. He also has a stent in his right kidney because without that he can't function the kidney.

Mihail is doing MRI after the 4th course of chemotherapy. Tomorrow, the 5th course of chemotherapy will begin and depending on the result of the MRI, the doctors will decide what is next. In principle there are 8 cures, but without the result from the MRI we do not know what will come next.

The story of a fighter
Michael, a young man of only 17 years old from Alexandria, Teleorman, is ready to fight cancer again. He has already won two battles – the first at 12, the second at 14. After 5 years in hospitals, However, Michael needs help again. After their parents spent almost everything they had on previous treatments and interventions, and even sold their house to get money, today they are forced to ask for help from their peers.
Michael's p ovestea is extremely sad. At the age of 12, he told us that his leg hurts very much. Initially I thought it hit. But it wasn't. I did a CT scan at Grigore Alexandrescu Hospital and he was suspected of a tumor. I asked for a second opinion at Bagdasar Arseni. We were told that he had the cracked bone and they put it in the gypsum. Two weeks later, when they took the gypsum down, they discovered that a suspicious malformation had appeared to him. Because no one was telling us exactly what was going on, we decided to go to Turkey, where he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma - bone cancer," Michael's father told us.
It took several sessions of chemotherapy for the tumor to decrease in size and be able to be operated on.
"There was an enormously high cost of over 250,000 euros, because he had to put on his prosthesis so that he could walk. We sold the house, we borrowed from relatives and friends and to this day we have not been able to pay the debts."
The intervention went well, and Michael was enjoying his childhood again as he had done before, only a year later the disease relapsed. Even before the pandemic, Michael began to complain of pain in his left hand, and the diagnosis was the same: Osteosarcoma.
"That's when I turned to the Save a Heart Association. We were totally overwhelmed by the situation! We no longer had the financial opportunity to help our child live! Vlad Pie is a man with a heart of gold! He helped us not only with raising funds for the operation, but also with moral support and encouragement, and Michael got over the surgery!"
The Petrache family, however, was far too tried. Less than two years after Michael was declared healthy, the disease struck again.
"Michael does not feel well at all for a week, he has abdominal pain and nausea, a hardened abdomen, he can no longer eat or drink, he no longer urinates normally," the teenager's mother confessed with tears in her eyes.
"I sincerely confess to you that in this activity the hardest thing is to patiently listen to the one next to you, to understand him, to wipe away his tears and to give him hope and confidence that tomorrow will be better. Parents put your hope in us, that they will have the 40,000 euros necessary to be able to continue the treatment for their child. But unfortunately some situations exceed us both financially and in terms of the health of the child.
