"What more soulful action could we have done?"

The names of the hundred people were determined by a commission that included municipal councilors of the two parties that make up the City Council.

Among those who received the Tribute Plaque "The Centenary of the Great Union" there are young people, but also elderly people, teachers, military, doctors, policemen and more.

It all happened during a gala where the awarding alternated with a concert of the Wind Orchestra of the Botosani State Philharmonic.

"Ever since the first days of 2018 appeared, we have set out to pay homage to the Centenary of the Union through a heartfelt action. And what more heartfelt action could we have done than one in which we pay respectful homage to some of the crowd of people from Botosani who make us proud of them?"

No politicians

Party members with important positions are missing from the awardees, precisely to prevent political disputes at the expense of appointees.

"Maybe we should have made at least 100,000 plaques to give to every resident of the municipality, but this was impossible. At least in terms of documentation for this action we chose only one hundred. May those who have not been nominated forgive us and consider that they have been awarded through their representatives, here."

About 70 of the 100 nominees showed up at the event, others sent representatives, others, the fewest, did not come or appoint another person to pick up their plaque.
