The desperate message of an 8-year-old girl with her father diagnosed with leukemia: 'I beg you, help me save my daddy!'

The cry for help of a little girl from the Republic of Moldova has gone viral on Facebook. The child hopes to raise money for the treatment of her father, diagnosed with leukemia.

"I beg you, help me not to lose my daddy!" These are the lines written with pain by an 8-year-old girl on a piece of paper.   The message through which the child tries to convince Romanians to share and donate for her father, Sergiu Sandu, was posted on Facebook by the heads of the "Save a heart" Association, along with the text: "Polina, Sergiu's little girl, begs us not to leave them. Because in the middle of this pain is cancer... This daddy's life has an impossible price for them. They have nothing but hope in people." The post has garnered more than 13,000 retweets in the past 11 days. "They kind of walked him on the roads" Polina's father is only 33 years old, lives in the Republic of Moldova and was recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a severe hematological disorder caused by the uncontrolled proliferation in the bone marrow of immature cells called lymphoblasts.

Although the diagnosis sounds tremendous, Sergiu has chances of healing, even if he lost precious time until the start of treatment. "After he was diagnosed, in Moldova, they kind of walked him on the roads because they don't have much medicine there. With some support, he managed to go to Turkey, to the Emsey Clinic in Istanbul. His treatment spans about a year. He did the first and second chemotherapy sessions and we will see if the transplant will be needed," Vlad Placinta, president of the Save a Heart Association, one of the non-governmental organizations involved in supporting the young father, told Adevărul.

He needs 90,000 euros

The campaign initiated by the "Save a heart" Association for Sergiu Sandu started on November 7, 2019, and in ten days 15,000 euros were raised, half of the amount the man needs in a first phase. According to the first treatment plan issued by Emsey Clinic in Istanbul (where Sergiu is currently hospitalized), at this stage the treatment costs amount to at least 30,000 euros. "They gave us three prices in Sergiu's case.

The 30,000 euros they told us at the beginning are only for chemotherapy. For transplantation it reaches 90,000 euros. It's hard for them and painful, especially since they have children to raise. We keep more contact with those at the clinic, because it is more difficult with the family. When I talk to my mother, she cries more... Both she and the girls want very much for daddy to come home," Vlad Placintă also tells Adevărul.

The message posted on the official Facebook page of the association appeals to all those who could help the young father with a small donation: "Sergiu needs each of us to be able to fight this fight, he needs our moral support, but also financial, to be able to perform the treatment. The secret to sickness is to struggle to gain God's grace. We benefit greatly from diseases, it is enough to endure them without murmuring and to glorify God, asking for His mercy. The salvation of the soul through patience in sicknesses, afflictions and sufferings. Let us trust in God's love. When we surrender to Christ, our spiritual body calms down, resulting in the physiological functioning of all organs. They are all influenced. We get better, we stop suffering. Even having cancer, if we leave it to God, so our soul calms down, divine grace can work through this tranquility to heal cancer and others," the page's administrators said in the message publicizing the case.

The sick man's cry for help is disturbing. Sergiu Sandu says he only wants to live. "I ask for your help on my knees. It's hard to ask... I am bedridden and only you can help me. Don't leave me, because I couldn't do it without you!", says Sergiu Sandu in a video on the salveazaoinima.ro page. The drama of the sick young man The young Bessarabian says he wants from the bottom of his heart to return home, to the two small children left in the care of his wife, broken by pain and hardships. "My wife and I are raising two young children. I go through many investigations, expensive treatments, chemotherapy, unbearable pain, it is already beyond my strength, but knowing that I am the pillar of the house, of the children, of the wife and the hope of my parents, I want with all my heart to fight and I want to I live with my children. My life depends on a large sum for us.

My family is powerless in the face of these expenses. It's hard to look at my little children and know that my life depends on an amount we don't have. I have hope in people and in the good God, I ask you from the bottom of my heart to be by my side, I need help very much," Sergiu also says in a message posted on caritate.md website. "He needs surgery" The caritate.md Association, which aims to support those in difficulty and suffering, initiated the campaign for Sergiu on October 24, 2019, and so far has collected over 1,800 donations, totaling $ 34,000. Any extra money from donations will help Srgiu get closer to the potentially life-saving transplant. "My son, Serioja, needs surgery. Please, from the bottom of my heart, help him with what you can!", says with tears in her eyes, in a video message, on the same page, the man's mother, who begs for support from the hospital bed where Sergiu is sitting.
