The story of little Ionela

Let me write these things... It seems to me a nightmare, a bad dream... That doesn't happen to my daughter!

Thus begins the story of Maria Todica, whose daughter - Ionela - suffers from a congenital malformation of the heart.

The 2-month-old girl has a flaw in the structure of her heart that is life-threatening. He breathes hard, coughs often, his heart beats hard, loses weight strongly and survives only with the help of very powerful drugs that can harm him in other parts of the body.

Until we found out about her illness, I took some photos to have them as a memory when she would be growing up. Now I look at the pictures and cry. How can he not see them when he will be big, how? I can't imaginethat, says the child's mother, grieved by the thought that she can lose her at any time.

Ionele Todica's problem has a solution in Turkey, at the Emsey Clinic in Istanbul, where a team of specialist doctors can operate on the little girl and save her life. It's just that the intervention and post-operative treatment costs over 15,000 euros, money that the family has nowhere to get it. Only Ion Todica works, and from his salary as a construction worker he must maintain four souls.

Never have we ever gotten to ask anyone for money. We have worked since we know how to make a home for children, to give them love, to help my student sister or relatives... I'm so uncomfortable to write this plea, but I have no choice... , says the woman who urges us not to turn our back on her, to help her raise the money needed to save her daughter.

Ionele Todica's story can be the story of any newborn. It could also be your child's story. If you had been in such a situation, wouldn't you have wanted to be helped? Think that we can all find ourselves at some point in a difficult situation, and surely we would all like not to be left to fight alone, especially when our powers are far inferior to the obstacles that are put in front of us.
